Leadership Expedition operates in a fairly structured environment. This
allows us to cover a concentrated curriculum in the limited time frame available
as well as providing a level of intensity which contributes to relational
building among the men as well as preparing them to face future leadership
situations. Just as leadership opportunities do not arise in a vacuum, training
should not take place in a vaccuum.
There are four major components to Leadership Expedition training:
Far from the traditional formal classroom, LE classes are generally conducted
in a relaxed format that encourages interactive discussion. The men
are challenged to make and share applications to their own lives from the
material presented by the teachers.

Work Projects are specifically designed to challenge the men to put into
practice what they are learning in class time and through other aspects of
the training. They are presented as a challenge in which the group of men
must take the initiative, choose their organization and division of labor
and complete the process.
The adventure activities compliment the teachings and provide an experiential
form of learning as well as a great deal of fun. They have included everything
from a "high ropes" challenge course to hiking, caving, and group initiatives.
The daily disciplines of life at Leadership Expedition are designed to
be challenging. We get up early each morning and begin our routine with physical
training and morning offering. These disciplines help maintain the appropriate
training environment and allow the men to practice responding to authority,
attention to detail and personal discipline of the mind body and spirit.
